Frequently asked questions
What does SRSA NEST do?
SRSA NEST arranges flat parts from DXF drawings on sheets of metal so that as little material as possible is wasted. It exports one DXF per sheet for your cutting machine or CAM software and prints a shop-floor report.
Which cutting technologies is it for?
For laser, plasma, waterjet and other CNC cutting technologies that take DXF as input. The program sets a gap between parts and a sheet margin; toolpaths are created in your machine software. A ready-made export profile is available for CypCut fiber lasers.
Does the program generate G-code?
No. SRSA NEST exports DXF. Lead-ins, toolpaths and machine code are created in your CAM or machine software (for example CypCut).
What are the system requirements?
Windows 10 (1809 or newer) or Windows 11, 64-bit. .NET is included in the installer. A multi-core processor and 8 GB RAM are recommended for large jobs.
Which DXF entities are supported?
LINE, ARC, CIRCLE, LWPOLYLINE and POLYLINE with bulges, ELLIPSE, SPLINE and INSERT blocks (including nested and mirrored blocks). Both ASCII and binary DXF files are supported.
What happens with texts in the drawing?
Texts and lines on marking layers (for example GRAV, MARK, TEXT) are kept as engraving and exported to a separate layer instead of being cut.
