General

What does SRSA NEST do?
SRSA NEST arranges flat parts from DXF drawings on sheets of metal so that as little material as possible is wasted. It exports one DXF per sheet for your cutting machine or CAM software and prints a shop-floor report.
Which cutting technologies is it for?
For laser, plasma, waterjet and other CNC cutting technologies that take DXF as input. The program sets a gap between parts and a sheet margin; toolpaths are created in your machine software. A ready-made export profile is available for CypCut fiber lasers.
Does the program generate G-code?
No. SRSA NEST exports DXF. Lead-ins, toolpaths and machine code are created in your CAM or machine software (for example CypCut).
What are the system requirements?
Windows 10 (1809 or newer) or Windows 11, 64-bit. .NET is included in the installer. A multi-core processor and 8 GB RAM are recommended for large jobs.

Drawings

Which DXF entities are supported?
LINE, ARC, CIRCLE, LWPOLYLINE and POLYLINE with bulges, ELLIPSE, SPLINE and INSERT blocks (including nested and mirrored blocks). Both ASCII and binary DXF files are supported.
What happens with texts in the drawing?
Texts and lines on marking layers (for example GRAV, MARK, TEXT) are kept as engraving and exported to a separate layer instead of being cut.

Nesting

Can I use remnants from previous jobs?
Yes. Remnants of any shape can be imported from DXF (holes are treated as defects) and the remnant of a nested sheet can be saved back to stock with one click. Remnants are used first.
Can I change the result by hand?
Yes. Parts can be moved, rotated, mirrored and locked with the mouse or keyboard; collisions and gaps are checked while you work. All changes, including automatic nesting, can be undone.

Licensing

Do I need a licence for the current version?
After installation the program runs as a full 30-day trial. After that, DXF export, reports and CSV require a licence key, which you enter in the program under Help → Licence.
Can I move a licence to another computer?
Yes. In your customer account you can release a computer and activate the licence on another one. Licences bound to a specific device are moved by our support.
Are prices with or without VAT?
Prices on the pricing page are without VAT unless stated otherwise.
